The Willink is a high performing and oversubscribed school. In 2018 over 80% achieved the GCSE benchmark of 5+ grades 9-4 and 30% achieved A*/A at A level. The school has 1070 students on roll including 170 in the Sixth Form, and is situated in a pleasant semi-rural setting south west of Reading. The school’s Ofsted judgment in June 2018 was exceptionally positive. As a Teaching School we can offer the successful candidate excellent support and professional development.

Teacher of Science

MPR, Full Time (part-time considered), from September 2019

We require a committed colleague with a real passion for the provision of quality and imaginative teaching to join an experienced, supportive and high achieving Science Department (80% of students achieved a 5 or above in their Science GCSEs in 2018). We are looking to appoint a biologist, chemist or physicist. The ability to teach a second subject, not necessarily in science, is desirable.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach their subject specialism across the age and ability range up to A-Level. As a Teaching School we warmly welcome applications from ITT colleagues and we can offer the successful candidate excellent support and professional development.

Teacher of English

A TLR is available for additional responsibilities for the right candidate

Full-Time/Part-time (0.8 -1.0 FTE)

Start Date: September 2019

We require a committed colleague with a real passion in the provision of quality and imaginative teaching to join an experienced, supportive and high achieving English Department (90% GCSE grades 4-9 in 2018).

The successful candidate will be expected to teach English language and literature throughout the school and across the age and ability range to GCSE. There is the opportunity of teaching A-Level for a suitably qualified candidate. Possible additional responsibilities may include literacy, SEND or media.

Applications are invited from ITTs as well as more experienced colleagues. A favourable finance package is available for new entrants to the profession. As a Teaching School we can offer the successful candidate excellent support and professional development.

Finance Officer

Starting June 2019 or earlier

Grade E £19,554 - £21,589 Full time equivalent

20-37 hours per week term time only – plus 2 weeks in the holidays

We are seeking to appoint a well organised, experienced, Finance Officer to support the work of the Finance Manager. The post holder has a significant impact on the day to day efficient running of the financial affairs of the school and provides information and advice to Senior Leadership and the Governing Body. We invite applications from candidates who have previous experience of financial management in general. It would be desirable to have FMS, Tucasi and SIMS knowledge, but training will be available for the successful applicant.
